Welcome to Japan
It has been a long time between posts on the Just My Travel Blog so I do apologise for the wait. We have been busy travelling the globe and are really excited to be bringing you some new updates.
Last year I finally made it to Japan a country that I had been wanting to visit for many years. The main aim of the trip was to attend the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix in Suzuka, however having never been to the country before I decided why not make a real trip of it! So spent just on four weeks exploring this magical part of the world.
Keep watching over the next few weeks as I post up highlights of each city, but to give you the quick notes the places we visited:
- Tokyo
- Kanazawa
- Takayama
- Nagoya
- Suzuka – Japanese Grand Prix
- Kyoto
- Osaka
- Hiroshima

Magical Kyoto bathing in the afternoon sunlight.
Thanks as always to my followers on Just My Travel Blog. I hope you enjoy reading along with my travels and as always please feel free to leave a comment to let me know your thoughts.
See you tomorrow!
I’m interested in more information on Kyoto. We will be going to Kyoto, Singapore and Bali for 2 months leaving October 31st from Vancouver. I’m particularly interested in your advice to get from Tokyo to Kyoto. I thought the bullet train. If so does one need to book before leaving home.
Claudette thanks for your comment. I will be posting very soon my updates for the trip. I definitely think you will enjoy the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto it is so easy to use. We prearranged a Japan rail pass because we knew we would be travelling quite a bit on the train. Depending on how much travel you plan on taking it may be economical. Otherwise you can book tickets at the station. There are trains leaving to Kyoto from Tokyo almost every 10 minutes. A wonderful website to help you plan your train trip and prices is – Hyperdia. Was invaluable for us throughout Japan.
Thank you so much. We will only be in Japan (Kyoto) for 5 days as we spent time in Tokyo on a previous trip. I enjoyed your information about Bali especially because most of the 2 months will be there. We have booked a villa as a home base in Legian close to where you have stayed.
I also look forward to your info on Kyoto. We have booked the IBIS hotel at Kyoto Station.
